Winter Get-a-ways!

Lo and behold… it is already the month of December. The last month of the year has already snuck upon us and it is time for Winter holidays, last minute shopping, and preparing to bid adieu to yet another year. As the chill sets in, it may not be too late to fulfill some of this year’s unresolved resolutions made on a promising January 2010 morning. And, if going on a great winter vacation, spending time with family, and experiencing new things was on your list, it’s still not too late.

The obvious choices for getaways in winter would be to go to warm places. Follow the birds; they know where to go to avoid the cold. If you want to stay within the continental U.S., head south to Florida, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, or California. Each of these states has cities worth exploring and warmer weather to boast. If you’re not afraid of a long flight (or the unpredictability of last-minute price fares), how about taking an entire week off to spend in Hawaii?

If you’re feeling a little more adventurous and have a passport handy, you can head down even further South to Mexico or South America. In fact, Brazil is experiencing the onset of summer right now! No doubt, these are very busy seasons. But a sunny beach and blue waters when the rest of North America is frozen is a tempting proposition.

Or better still, find places that offer deep seasonal discounts. New York city gets pretty chilly in December, but the holiday lights at Times Square are a pretty sight this time of the year.  And if you’ve waited all year long to ski and it’s the white, powdery stuff you like, then take advantage of last-minute deals to some of the best ski spots in Colorado and Salt Lake City.

Yahoo cited a few off-peak winter destination places for the budget-wary traveler. From Europe’s oldest country, Bulgaria to Philadelphia, the home of the philly cheese steak sandwich, Yahoo offers some off-the-beaten-path experiences to indulge and add to life’s unique experiences.

Wherever you choose to go, and whatever you choose to do, Bluff Manufacturing wishes its partners, customers, and vendors a Happy Winter Vacation! Avoid the long airport lines and get to the airport early. There are way too many disgruntled travelers and weary security staff at airports that can add to the delays. For those who prefer staying at home to relax and rejuvenate, enjoy a cup of cocoa or hot apple cider.  To all:  Stay safe, healthy, and happy, and come back to work with a fresh and relaxed state of mind ready to take on the New Year in a new decade.
